Our goal is to preserve, promote, and showcase our Bamileke cultural heritage in our communities. We are dedicated to teaching and supporting children and younger generations about tradition, education, respect, self-love, and cultural identification.

Nkoni Maryland serves as a bridge between our ancestral traditions and modern life, ensuring that our rich cultural heritage continues to thrive in the diaspora. We believe that understanding one's cultural identity is fundamental to personal growth and community cohesion.

“Nkoni,” meaning “love,” unites Anglophone sisters and spouses from the Bamileke western province. The Maryland branch, founded in 2011 by MA Esther Mbiakop, was the first international chapter outside Cameroon and paved the way for new branches in Dallas, Houston, North Carolina, and New Jersey.

We remain affiliated with Nkoni Cameroon, carrying forward their mission to empower girls through education while expanding opportunities for our diaspora community.
